Christian B&B Owners Back in Court
A religious couple who refused two local gay men accommodation in their hotel were back in court this week, appealing their conviction under equalities legislation. Steven Hall and Martin Preddy from Bristol were turned away from the Chymorvah Hotel in Cornwall owned by Mr and Mrs Bull. In January, Mr Hall and Mr Preddy successfully sued the Bulls. However, the appeal hearing is now underway in a case that has been bankrolled by right wing networks. In court yesterday, the Bulls lawyer admitted that their opinions were what he called "obsolete" and "uneconomic for those operating a hotel".
