Fundamentalist Preacher Cleared of Public Order Beach; Harrassing Couple

The comments thread at gay newswire Pink News has been buzzing after a ruling on Friday that a fundamentalist street preacher from Somerset had not verbally abused a gay couple in Taunton. The man, Michael Overd, had allegedly screamed abuse at the couple, but was defended by the well-financed right-wing Christian Legal Centre. He was cleared of breaking the Public Order Act of 1986. Ian Bower at Pink News responded by saying "No more appeasement. Let's all get our phones out and video every instances we come across of vile hate".
